EWaste Prime partnered with a leading Bangladesh development NGO to convert retiring office IT assets into functional devices for redistribution to rural education centres across three divisions.
Over 18 months, EWaste Prime collected 1,200 retiring laptops and desktop computers from the NGO's Dhaka and Chittagong offices. Each device was professionally assessed, cleaned, and subject to rigorous functional testing. Devices meeting refurbishment criteria — approximately 68% of the total — received component upgrades where necessary, fresh operating system installations, and a 90-day performance warranty before dispatch.
A total of 816 refurbished devices were delivered to 34 rural school computer laboratories across Rajshahi, Khulna, and Sylhet divisions, providing digital access to over 12,000 students in underserved communities. Non-refurbishable devices were processed through certified recycling channels with full material recovery documentation.
The programme generated formal SDG contribution documentation covering SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) for inclusion in the NGO's annual donor reports.
