Electronic waste contains some of the most dangerous substances on Earth. Without proper extraction and disposal, these substances contaminate Bangladesh's soil, rivers, groundwater, and air — directly threatening human health, agriculture, and aquatic ecosystems for generations.
UN SDG Alignment: SDG 3 — Good Health and Well-being (Target 3.9). SDG 6 — Clean Water and Sanitation (Target 6.3).
Hazardous Substances and Their Health Impacts:
Lead (Pb): Found in circuit boards. Causes blood disorders, nervous system damage, impaired child brain development.
Mercury (Hg): Found in switches and CRT monitors. Causes brain damage, respiratory failure, heart and liver damage.
Cadmium (Cd): Found in batteries. Causes liver and kidney damage, bone disease, lung cancer.
Brominated Flame Retardants: Causes thyroid disruption, nervous system damage.
Hexavalent Chromium: Causes cancer and respiratory damage.
EWaste Prime's certified extraction process ensures every hazardous substance is isolated and transferred exclusively to downstream processors holding ISO 14001, R2v3, or e-Stewards certification — guaranteeing zero uncontrolled release into Bangladesh's environment.
All hazardous material disposal is conducted in accordance with the Basel Convention, the Stockholm Convention on POPs, and the Minamata Convention on Mercury.
